A unique night time 5k run the City of Derry Airport runway.

The City of Derry Air Ambulance Runway Run will take place on Saturday 5th April and offers participants a unique experience of running 5K on the City of Derry Airport runway whilst raising vital funds to support your local air ambulance service.

This is a flat and fast paced 5k race, offering great opportunity for personal bests as well as prizes for first, second and third in both female and male categories.

Whether you are starting a couch to 5k, a keen supporter of Air Ambulance or, if running a runway when all flights have ceased is on your bucket list- we’d love you to join us.

The primary goal for this exclusive and unique running event is to raise vital funds to sustain our air ambulance service, which is needed on average twice per day. Your fundraising will support future patients wherever they are.

Every pound raised is helping the charity to treat the most critically ill and injured patients across Northern Ireland.

Date and Time: Saturday 5th April, 2025

Distance: 5km along the City of Derry Airport runway

Age: 18 and over

Places available: Places are limited to 550 participants.

Entry fee: £25 per person with a suggested minimum sponsorship of £100

As well as the extremely unique experience of running a Runway, your £25 entry includes:

• Air Ambulance branded tech top

• Bespoke finishers medal

• Chip timed results

• Pre-event visit to Air Ambulance operational airbase

• Support to help your fundraising journey including tips on the best fundraising activities to organise, and supporting materials such sponsor forms, buckets, banners, balloons and much more. Anyone who reaches £100 fundraising target will be entered into a draw for a range of prizes.

Please note that by registering for this event you are granting the organisers permission to contact you using via e-mail and mobile. There will be terms and conditions for the run including no loose objects (pens, mobile phones, water bottles, etc.) to be taken onto the runway. A valuables bag service will be available.
