Story

In 2023 The Cirdan Sailing Trust will be celebrating its 40th anniversary!

Established in 1983, Cirdan provides young people, in particular those who are disadvantaged or at risk of social exclusion, with self-development, integration and learning opportunities through the challenge and disciplines of life at sea aboard large sailing vessels.

A sailing voyage provides young people with a challenging environment where they have to understand accept authority, live and work alongside their fellow crew members, learn new skills and of course have fun.

Our Voyage of Discovery Fund scheme subsidises the cost of a voyage to ensure young people, in particular those who are disadvantaged in their lives, can participate in and benefit from the challenge of life at sea. We reply on the generosity on grant making trusts and individual supporters to operate the scheme.

We are suggesting a donation of £1 for every year we have been running. A donation of £40 would help us continue to change lives at sea, but we would appreciate any monetary donation you can make.
