Story
Christmas is a time of year that should be spent with friends, family and loved ones but sadly some people find themselves spending time in hospital. With current visitor restrictions in place, this year more than ever it is important that we make our patients at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust feel extra-special over the festive period.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Portsmouth Hospitals Charity sadly cannot accept the usual items generously donated to the hospital by our fantastic communities and businesses. So, to help bring the Christmas spirit in for our patients, this year we are asking you to kindly donate the money you would have spent on gifts so that we can purchase presents for those spending the festive season within hospital instead. The presents will be placed in gift bags for inpatients across Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust to enjoy on Christmas Day.
Our aim is to spend at least £5 on each gift bag, but we wont be able to do this without you becoming a 'Secret Santa' for a patient and donating to the Portsmouth Hospitals Charity Christmas Appeal.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, your donation will help to make a difference this Christmas .

2020 has been an unprecedented year, however amongst the challenges at Portsmouth Hospitals Charity we have been touched by the generosity and support of our local community. Any funds we receive over and above what we need for patients, we will use to benefit the staff at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. In the event that funds received also exceeds this need, donated funds will be transferred to the Portsmouth Hospitals Charity Working Together Fund which supports all areas of Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust and allocates funds to where the need is greatest.
