Story
As we approach the most magical time of the year, were looking back on what has been such a strange time for us all. The uncertainties continue and none of us know when normal life will resume, but your support throughout 2020 has been phenomenal, weve seen donations, PPE, food parcels and support from communities and businesses across Wales and beyond. So thank you.
Our community teams are in constant contact with families like Kanon's, who are sharing their story with you today. They provide support, guidance and have even been out delivering food parcels. The uptake in our virtual activities has soared. Our team in the hospice has faced tough times wearing PPE for long periods. However, everyone has adapted and they've provided critical care, support and help to families in utter desperation.
With Christmas approaching and the winter season upon us, its inevitable that more families will reach out, and we will make sure were ready.
This Christmas we will be keeping the lights on for our families.
Christmas at Ty Hafan is typically full of noise, laughter, excited children and lots of smiles. We know Christmas will be very different for so many of us this year, but in true Ty Hafan style we are adapting to the measures and will provide fun and laughter in a different way.
(Bah Humbug!) Christmas is not cancelled at Ty Hafan!
Our Christmas panto will be livestreamed every week; our wonderful staff will be dressing up and putting on a virtual show to entertain families across Wales. We are planning a virtual winter wonderland party for the siblings, who so often miss out due to their brother or sisters' life limiting condition. Using social media channels we will share Christmas activities for families to take part in, and well bring the magic of Christmas to all with a virtual Carol concert.
This year the candlelight service for our bereaved families will be held virtually so that all the families can take part.
But, we cannot do any of this without you.
Please help us to continue bringing warmth, comfort and care this Christmas.
During the festive period we will continue to be a lifeline for those families who need it the most. The hospice will be ready for crisis, end of life and symptom management stays. We will be there to pull families back up when they simply cant cope anymore.
We can give our families some light after the dark.
A donation from you this Christmas will provide the greatest gift to one of our families; the gift of warmth, comfort, care and support, whether thats in the hospice, over the phone, or virtually it will make a huge difference.
From all of us at T Hafan stay safe and have a wonderful Christmas.
