Story
Kids Inspire was born out of community needs after identifying gaps in local provision. Christmas time is no different, it goes hand in hand with the foundation of the charity some 14-years ago
"as with all things Kids Inspire, our Christmas Appeal started with a child at the centre, a child who we knew wouldnt quite have the Christmas they deserve. Once again, this year, we appreciate it is going to be tough for some families. We do not want to see any child go without." Vicky Haylock, Head of Operations at Kids Inspire
During the festive season, donations will go towards the Christmas Appeal and other operational costs, including:
The Christmas Appeal, including operations and the purchase of additional gifts or hampers
£5- pays for five cloth or hamper bags
£10- will pay for art materials to support one young persons therapeutic journey
£20- pays for gift vouchers
£30- pays for two food hampers
£50- will give a young person one therapeutic session
£100- pays for a full day of the Christmas Appeal
Since March 2020 the impact of the pandemic on youth mental health has greatly affected the families we support. As the pandemic has advanced, so have the needs of children and young people requesting help and with referral numbers doubling from over a year ago, this extreme is also being reflected in the severity of cases being presented.
More complex cases, including suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviours, disordered eating and severe anxiety are being referred to us for support. While families in crisis due to bereavement or other traumatic experiences are directly asking for our help.
Our Talk Together programme supports the range of youth mental health needs from early intervention right through to more complex cases. We couldnt offer this flexibility and level of support without you. Any surplus on this page will go towards our core services:
Youth mental health and trauma resolution therapy
