Story
On Christmas Day, we will once again be welcoming people to the Methodist Central Hall in Coventry for dinner.
Many of the people who will attend will be homeless, vulnerable or alone and would like to sit down and enjoy their Christmas with others. All are welcome to join us.
The Christmas Day dinner event has been running in Coventry for over 30 years and we believe it to be one of the best attended in the country - but we need your donation to ensure it remains so. We are expecting up to 200 attendees, with each receiving a 3 course meal. We aim to try and give each person who attends a Christmas present but this depends on the donations we receive from the local community. We also pride ourselves on the quality of entertainment that's provided during the event, with volunteers giving up their time to perform a variety of acts, including; singing, dancing and poetry.
Our priority with donations is to ensure that we can successfully run the Christmas Day dinner event for another year. In addition, we create hampers which we send out to every one of our supported accommodations in Coventry and Warwickshire - this means almost another 200 individuals (including children in our family service) receiving gifts. Once we are able to do this we will look to use the donations received to help provide essentials for people who are homeless or vulnerably housed throughout the winter.
Please give and help us provide those of Coventry who are less fortunate what might be their only gift, warm meal or meaningful conversation this Christmas.
