Chris founded Journey Latin America back in 1980, together with his friend Brian Williams. They had first met as teachers in Brazil in the 1970s and were inspired to introduce others to a continent they had both come to love from their explorations during the long school holidays. Over the years they developed the company to become what it is today, a pioneering enterprise which still upholds the principles and values which Chris held dear continue to inspire our journey.

Chris always put the success of Journey Latin America down to the people who worked there (hundreds, over the years) and to the relationships forged with trusted partners in Latin America. He was delighted to call so many of us in the industry his friends.

Chris was a great supporter of The LATA Foundation, following our progress with keen interest and gave generously at each fundraising event . He actively encouraged the staff at JLA to volunteer on the teams at the Foundation, with his wife, Sue, being an integral member of the Projects Team for a few years. We're incredibly grateful that Sue and Tom have chosen The LATA Foundation for donations in Chris's name.
