Story
Thrill-seeking participants have volunteered to abseil down the Spinnaker Tower, whilst raising some pennies to support initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of our NHS colleagues.
It is Brighterway's mission to support our colleagues, by supporting their health and wellbeing, they are playing their part in enabling the delivery of high quality care of our patients.
A message from Chris:-
Hi everyone, my name is Chris and I am a Carers Peer Support Worker in the Perinatal Community Team within Southern Health. I have two amazing children, a beautiful wife and a very cute cavapoo doggy! 10 years ago, my wife suffered from postpartum psychosis after giving birth to our first child. This is what drives my passion for working in the Perinatal Team and I spend my time here supporting the family and carers of patients, using my own lived experience.
In my spare time, I like to try new things often and have been a keen indoor climber and squash player in the past. I love long weekend dog walks and I have an enormous collection of Scalextric, which is a hobby of mine. Another hobby I have is playing online multiplayer text-based war games with a small, friendly, international community; some of whom have already donated to this fundraiser! Thanks guys!
Why did I want to do this fundraiser and what am I looking forward to the most?
I wanted to do this abseiling fundraiser because it is something that has been on my bucket list for many years. Despite many years of practise indoor climbing, I have never done anything quite like this! I am really looking forward to seeing the view over the Solent as I start my decent!
Please support our Team to support Brighterway.
