Story
We've all experienced a lot of change in recent months, but children heading into Year 8 have even more change to come.
This would have been an unsettling time anyway, but in current circumstances our Year 8 pupils face an even bigger upheaval.
This year we want to provide a resource to every post-primary school that will help support our Year 8 pupils as they begin school in September - we need your help to make it happen.
'Unlocked' is specifically written with Year 8 pupils in mind - pupils who had to leave their primary schools so unexpectedly in March and who are starting post-primary in September, but in a very different context to the one they had imagined.
'Unlocked' is a programme with three 30-minute downloadable sessions, that can be used in the classroom or at home. Our team will lead the sessions through videos and there will be opportunities for pupils to pause and reflect on their experiences over these months during COVID-19.
Pick a challenge to complete in July & gather some sponsorship - here are some ideas:
Could you read 8 books - perhaps novels, books from the Bible or even 8 books with your child?
Will you walk every day - you choose how far...8km, 8miles or 8000 steps?
Make 8 - why not bake 8 cakes, prepare 8 meals for your family, try out 8 new recipes or complete 8 craft projects?
During Lockdown, perhaps you've gained a wee bit of weight - why not lose 8lbs or 8kg as a family?
Challenge yourself to 8 minutes of working out a day - there are plenty of online options to follow or why not create your own?
Could you commit to run 8 miles, 8km or 8 minutes every day?
Get on your bike and cycle the equivalent of 8 miles or km a day - you can do this every day or in once/twice a week?
Maybe you'd like to give £8 every day towards this campaign - thats £248 in July?
Of course you can pick your own challenge...we'd love you to join in.
