Story
We're all human. Yet around the world minority groups are discriminated, demonised, dehumanised, their rights eroded, paving the way to mass atrocities. This isn't a new story. It's predictable. It's also preventable.
In 2021, alongside the Covid pandemic, 48 million people had to flee their homes due to violence and conflict. Someone fled almost every second. That is a new record.
While the cost of responding to conflict is huge, we hardly invest in the prevention. Rights for Peace focuses on countering identity-based violence in countries where divisions are fueling atrocities: preventing another Rwanda.
Join us and help prevent? On Sunday 11th July, Rights for Peace is hosting a sponsored cycle through the Chiltern Hills. Starting at the Stag & Huntsman pub in Hambleden, the event includes two circular routes: the Fabulous Fifty (50km) and the Hilly Hundred (100km). Set to be enjoyable yet challenging routes through the picturesque Chiltern Hills, this is a day not to be missed!
Your support will help counter identity-based discrimination and violence recurring in Sudan and South Sudan.
The event is accessible by train and car from London with on-site parking. Refreshments will be available at the Pub throughout the day.
