Story
Charlie loves gaming like most teenagers, but he also enjoys anything that involves a ball and water. However, he is agoraphobic and struggles on a daily basis to leave the house. He has complex additional needs, including being autistic, ADHD, depression, sensory processing disorder, and developmental coordination disorder, which means he can trip easily and hurt himself. He struggles with sensory processing and has severe anxiety being outside the house, as the world around him is a very overwhelming place.
We have tried to make our garden the best we can, but we need your help. We would love for him to be able to enjoy the garden more without worrying about tripping and injuring himself, and be able to be outside in his safe space. Leaving the house is a HUGE challenge, and he can barely make it past the back door most days.
Our plan is to level the garden, lay artificial grass, and build a summerhouse where he can retreat for some quiet time but still enjoy being outside. We also want to relocate our current trampoline so it can be securely anchored to the ground for safety, and install a couple of raised planting beds for vegetables and herbs so he can grow his own food, as he is an avid cook too. He would love a ball water feature, as water helps him regulate and stay calm. This garden would truly be life-changing for him and, in turn, for our family.
We THANK YOU for any support, kindness, and help in raising this money. It truly means the world to us.
