Story
Challengers is dedicated to breaking down the barriers of play for disabled children and young people. We provide inclusive play and leisure opportunities for over 1000 disabled children and young people a year, aged 2-18 at our pre-schools, playschemes and youthschemes all based across the South East. Challengers is a place where all disabled young people can have fun, make friends and try activities they have never had the opportunity to before.
Whilst their child is in our care, parents can feel confident that their son or daughter is happy and safe, and that their needs are well catered for. These parents are often in need of breaks from their care responsibilities. Our services provide respite for them, and fun for their child.
Uniquely Challengers will never turn away a child. Our non-exclusion policy ensures that everyone is included, regardless of the complexity of their care, needs and impairments or their geographical location. Where other providers of play and leisure say no, Challengers will always say yes!
Challengers has kept our families mental and physical health from tipping over the edge. We feel safe in the knowledge that there is somewhere he can go and do activities he will enjoy and we can have time for ourselves and the rest of family. Not just respite but an adventure for him, with folk who understand his needs and are prepared to go the extra mile to meet them. Challengers Parent
