A white raised ranch in a residential area on Westfield Street in West Springfield, it has kitchen and couches like a home, a giant fish tank, and a backyard water feature and fire pit, as well as an adorable comfort dog, a Shih Tzu-Havanese mix named Abby, who happily greets you, tail wagging.
The homey, non-clinical atmosphere is warm and welcoming - it is this relaxing vibe that those going through a cancer diagnosis and treatment truly appreciate. Cancer House of Hope provides a variety of support services, counseling, wellness programs, recreational activities, including a wig boutique, massage, reiki, in person and virtual yoga, relaxation and hypnotherapy, support groups, therapeutic horseback riding and a host of other outdoor activities in the warmer months. The mission is support, friendship, community and optimism. It is open to everyone seeking support during cancer treatment and throughout recovery. All at no cost to members.
Cancer House of Hope was my go to during treatment, and I'm stronger for it. They helped relieve my stress and anxiety so that I could still find moments of joy through it all. Thank you so very much!
