Story
Our new sponsored event, Walk On Weekend, will take place on Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6, 2021. It's open to supporters across the globe and participants can take on any distance they choose over the course of the two days.
Were encouraging those who can do so, to take in a Celtic-related site during their walk and we'd love for you to tag us on social media with your photos - on Twitter @FoundationCFC or Instagram @celticfcfoundation - while also sharing them with your friends on Facebook.
We will continue to feature a variety of Celtic-related sites over the coming weeks. However, some initial examples include:
* Walk On in Glasgow and pay a visit to Celtic Park or St. Mary's Church
* Walk On in Sligo and take in the Brother Walfrid sculpture.
* Walk On in Belfast and check out the famous Celtic mural on Friendly Street.
* Walk On in New York and stop by the Irish Hunger Memorial site.
* Walk On in Boston and visit Fenway Park, where Celtic played matches in 1931 and 2010.
* Walk On in Melbourne and see the Olympic Park stadium, where Celtic won the World of Soccer cup in 1977.
Even if there aren't any sites in your local area, you still can join in and Walk On wherever you are in the world and walk whichever distance you choose.
Getting involved couldn't be easier. Registration is now open and the non-refundable entry fee is £5. Please ensure you read the TERMS AND CONDITIONS thoroughly, before registering. Participants must be 13 years of age or over on Saturday, June 5, 2021, in order to take part and participants aged under 18 years must have consent/approval from their parent or legal guardian.
Upon registration, you will receive your sponsorship pack including a sponsor form and details on how to set up your online fundraising page. Participants will also receive a Walk On Weekend keep sake.
All we ask is that you commit to raising a minimum of £50 (after entry fee) in support of Celtic FC Foundation's Football for Good Fund (FFGF), which is continuing to provide urgent assistance to those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since its launch in March 2020 and thanks to the incredible generosity of so many Celtic supporters throughout the world, the Fund has risen to over £1million and we have worked with a host of partner organisations, to provide vital and urgent support in the form of food and essentials to thousands of vulnerable children, families, individuals, pensioners, refugees, the homeless, those living in refuge and NHS frontline staff. To complement this provision, the FFGF is now also focusing on challenging fuel poverty and providing mental health support.
Thank you for your wonderful support.
