Flooding in Thua Thien Hue Province

In October 2020, central Vietnam has experienced extremely severe flooding. In Thua Thien Hue, many thousands of people have faced devastating loss. Hue Help is launching an Emergency Appeal to raise funds to help children, schools and families who are severely affected by this disaster.

The floods in Thua Thien Hue province have so far claimed at least 4 lives. Over 25,000 people have been evacuated from their homes, and over 50,000 homes have experienced flooding. Over 200 hectares of farmland have been damaged, and over 2,000 hectares of aquaculture. The full impact of the flooding is still being assessed and flood warnings remain in place at present but it is clear that the impact of the flooding is devastating for thousands of households.

Hue Help will work with our local partners, authorities and schools to identify families and children that need urgent support. Any remaining funds will be used to provide water safety education to children living in areas at risk of flooding.
