Story
Rydyn ni’n bodoli i drawsnewid perthynas Cymru â bwyd. Mae’r ffordd rydyn ni’n bwyta yn creu difrod i’n iechyd, yn methu’r to ifanc, ein cynhyrchwyr lleol a’n amgylchedd naturiol. Gallwn ni newid hynny trwy ailgysylltu â bwyd go iawn, ffres a lleol – a’i goginio er mwyn Cymru!
Food in Wales isn't working for us
Food in Wales isn’t working for us – it’s failing our health, our farmers, our wildlife and our rural economy.
One in four children and more than half of adults in Wales are overweight or obese. Our NHS spends £86 million on illnesses associated with being obese or overweight every year.
We believe that real food can tackle these problems. When people of all ages and from all walks of life can cook fresh food from scratch, their health and confidence improve.
Let's get Wales cooking!
Over the last 3 years, we’ve seen the difference this can make through working on Coleg Sir Gar’s Cook24 project. Working across Carmarthenshire to deliver food literacy and food leadership training with everyone from urban primary school kids to rural older women’s groups, we’ve seen lives transformed.
Parents tell us their kids are eating food they’d always refused, pupils given responsibility say they’re now cooking for family at home, teachers describe how pupils’ behaviour has improved.
We are now looking to continue and expand this work as Cegin y Bobl - a new not-for-profit organisation. Cook24 funding runs out in December, and we need to raise £250,000 from the public to grow this impactful work into 2025.
I now cook Sunday dinner at home. It's actually very fun. I might not have done that without this course. I think it has actually changed my life

Cegin y Bobl is the most exciting story I have come across in decades of food journalism
Sheila Dillon, BBC Journalist and Presenter of The Food Programme
Thrilled to be Patron of the groundbreaking Cegin y Bobl/The People's Kitchen. Boy, do we need to tackle the issues around food head on!
Sian Lloyd 'Weather', TV presenter, journalist, weather reporter, travel & food writer.
UPDATE: We're thrilled to have secured just under £60,000 to take our work forward with three schools next year.
This is a great start to our fundraising. Can you help us build on this, so that we can reach many more schools, community groups and teachers in 2025?
