Story
The animals here at the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home do not know the world outside has changed. We will continue to do everything in our power to keep it that way.
The invisible victims of Covid-19.
In the last couple of weeks, we have had intakes of dogs whose owners are in hospital; who would have imagined that our much-loved pets would be the invisible victims of the current crisis? Most of the emergency funding is directed at those working on the frontline. There are some great charities out there doing some amazing work to ensure animals in our communities are safe but they are being overlooked right now. In these unprecedented times we are turning to you for help.
Its tough out there for everyone. Fundraising will be hugely affected this year as we have had to cancel all our spring/summer events and collections. The majority of our income is generated through our 10 charity shops which all had to close in March and we are now running at a £30,000 loss each month. Only providing essential veterinary care costs £5,000 each month.
How will this affect our animals?
Sadly, we are unable to rehome our animals and intakes are limited to urgent RSPCA welfare cases and high priority animals. In spite of all this negativity we are working hard to ensure our animal welfare is not compromised. Our team are incredible; they have met the challenges head-on and are determined that every day is a great day. They are all in good spirits despite the challenges Covid-19 brings and are ensuring our animals are all getting the love and care they need and are happy and safe.
Matched Funding Offer
We are so grateful that one of our incredible supporters has offered to match all donations pound for pound up to the value of £15,000!
Can you spare just a few pounds towards our appeal to help keep vulnerable animals in our community safe? We cannot go to the pub, take the kids for a pizza or have a curry with our mates at the moment. It would be terrific if you donated what you would have spent getting out and about before the lockdown to our appeal. What is more, with our generous donor pledge your donation will be worth DOUBLE! Your donations will make all the difference; they will ensure that we can continue to support the most vulnerable animals in our community; the invisible victims of Covid-19.
Thank you from us all at CDCH and thank you from all of the incredible animals we are caring for during this unprecedented crisis.
