Story
The Churchdown Community Association (CCA) is a registered charity that owns and operates the Churchdown Community Centre, a cherished hub in the heart of Churchdown village. For nearly 50 years, this centre has been a beacon of community spirit, offering a not-for-profit Coffee Shop & Bar (The Brookfield), various clubs and activities, and recently serving as a Covid-19 vaccination site, delivering over 180,000 vital doses.
The Challenge
Sadly, the overwhelming costs of the upkeep and maintenance are reaching crucial heights, with the catastrophic increase in energy bills and lack of income throughout the pandemic has resulted in a very small pot of money left to address the essential maintenance required to remain active.
Our beloved community centre’s flat roof, spanning 800m², is in urgent need of repair. Heavy rainfall causes water pooling, leading to frequent leaks and putting immense strain on the building. To address this critical issue, we need to raise £200,000 for comprehensive roof maintenance. This project is essential to ensure the safety and continuity of our services.
Community Benefits
A successful roof renovation will:
Ensure the safety and comfort of all users of the community centre.
Prevent further structural damage and extend the lifespan of the building.
Allow uninterrupted operation of the centre’s programs and activities.
Reinforce the centre’s role as a crucial support system and gathering place for the community.
How You Can Help!
We need your support to reach our £200,000 goal. Here’s how you can contribute:
Donations: Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to our target. Donations can be made online, in person at the community centre, or through community fundraising events.
Spread the Word: Help us raise awareness by sharing our cause with friends, family, and on social media.
Any donations towards our efforts to get this project off the ground would be massively appreciated and would contribute massively to helping us to continue serving our community.
