Story
At FeedNC (formerly The Mooresville Soup Kitchen), FEED stands for Food, Education, Essentials, and Dignity. We take shopping with dignity seriously and offering a cart as a way to shop for groceries provides that dignity. With Carts for a Cause, our goal is to fill 250 carts to feed families in need this holiday season and we can't do this without you! Each cart provides $200 worth of supplemental groceries for a family in need. Together, we can raise $50,000! You can donate any amount directly to the cause or start your own fundraiser and asking your friends, family, and co-workers to join the fun and support you!
We use connections to food, education, and resources as a catalyst for change. One of those connections is the FeedNC Pantry which offers a variety of fresh produce, meats, cheeses, and other packaged foods. The pantry is set up like a mini grocery store and carts are given to guests to use to shop for supplemental food. Rather than giving each guest a box filled with predetermined groceries, a guest can shop for items that are needed in their own pantry. The value of a cart of groceries is $200 but what this food provides to a neighbor in need is so much more. It is an ingredient for a recipe, a meal for a family, toiletries for personal hygiene, lunch for a child to take to school and a snack for home!
You can help right NOW by donating directly or by asking friends, co-workers, and family to join you to help raise $200 to fill a grocery cart! If you would like to make a gift offline, either via a check, appreciated stock, a bequest, or anything else, please reach out to Development Director, Bonnie Battalia at bbattalia@feednc.org. We will gladly add your gift to the total! Let's do this and show 250 families they will not have to worry about where their next meal is coming from! Thank you for your support.
