In 2019 we were fortunate enough to be able to purchase our very first CARESCO community minibus. When we purchased it, our main priority was to give our Green End Day Club members more freedom in coming to our centre. Allowing CARESCO the opportunity to provide our own reliable transport for our service users was an important aspect of a facility we could provide. This allowed us to collect members from their homes, bring them to our day centre and take them home afterwards.

Since we purchased the minibus we have learnt that it has multiple uses. We have used it to deliver meals on Christmas Day to the elderly in our community. By doing this we ensured that a hot meal was delivered to people who may have been on their own. Another use of our minibus has been to take our members on day trips and also to take them shopping. Recently we have also used it to collect donations from companies who have helped with food to our foodbank.

Our bus is now 15 years old and we are in need of updating it. Like everything time takes its toll and after many repairs and failed MOT's the need for a new minibus is greater than ever. In the long term our minibus needs to be replaced sooner rather than later. This will enable us to continue to do the good work we do for CARESCO and our ever growing community.
