How does CarePortal work?
CarePortal is a technology platform that connects vulnerable children and families to people who have something to give. Social workers uncover the needs. CarePortal makes local churches aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond.
Who does CarePortal help?
First and foremost, CarePortal exists to help hurting children and families. All requests submitted through CarePortal come from caseworkers at government child welfare agencies or other child-serving organizations approved by CarePortal to vet needs.CarePortal strategically addresses all areas of Child Welfare in a framework we call The Grid. These areas include helping prevent families from entering foster care, supporting resource parents, adoptive parents, kinship and youth aging out of the system.
How do CarePortal requests help?
What difference do these requests make for these children and their families? Every single time a caseworker submits a request on behalf of a child in their community, they will let you know the purpose. Your responses could help achieve goals like: prevent a child from entering foster care, make an adoptive placement or support a youth aging out of foster care.
