Story
Our specialist palliative care team supports people with life-limiting conditions, who may have complex physical, emotional or social needs.
Our team comprises of doctors, clinical nurse specialists and allied health professionals who have additional training in palliative care. They provide specialist information and support where care cannot be easily managed by the patient’s team, either in hospital or the community.
The funds raised will directly benefit patients who have a palliative diagnosis with North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.
All kind donations support the team to provide patient care over and beyond which the NHS can provide. Recent donations have allowed the team to offer virtual reality, which has been found to improve symptoms and overall better outcomes. Members of the team have been able to attend specialist training or events to increase their knowledge and skills, which can be passed on to others, aiming to improve patient care.
This year we were able to support the national dying matters campaign due to these donations, allowing our team to provide engagement and education to many.
Your charitable gift will enable our team to continue to purchase items that would not normally be paid for with NHS funding but make such a big difference to our patients. We would like to thank you for this.
