Story

The Edward Showler Foundation was set up in memory of Ed Showler. Ed was a young doctor who was diagnosed with metastatic Clear Cell Sarcoma in 2017 and died just 8 months later at the age of 28.

Clear Cell Sarcoma is a rare type of cancer that mainly affects young adults in their 20’s and 30’s and for which there is no effective treatment.

The Edward Showler Foundation is funding a research programme at University College London to better understand the disease and to provide new life saving treatments for Clear Cell Sarcoma patients.

The Canterbury Rugby Club has kindly offered the Edward Showler Foundation the opportunity to be the featured charity at the lunch to be held before their home fixture with Henley on the 22nd March. We are indebted to the kindness of Canterbury Rugby Club and in particular to Giles and to Andy Davies for making it happen.
