Story

In 2018, we opened the UKs first Centre for Cancer Immunology at University Hospital Southampton, completely funded by the extraordinary generosity of our community of Alumni and Supporters.

Over the last five years, the Centre has been world-leading in using immunotherapy in the battle against cancer. Our exceptional researchers have made remarkable progress in fighting the disease and helping people live longer and healthier lives.

We have launched world-leading clinical trials to treat rare forms of bladder cancer; we’ve discovered new ways to identify and treat patients who are twice as likely to die from lung cancer; and we are pioneering the development of personalised cancer vaccines using ground-breaking MRNA technology.

However, there is still more to be discovered and a long way to go with Cancer Immunology research; By supporting the Cancer Immunology Fund, you will be helping our scientists to develop new cutting-edge cancer treatments, which will change the lives of cancer patients and their families and help us to win the fight against cancer.
