Story
Camp Angel Wings is a bereavement day-camp experience offered at no cost for children ages 6 to 15 grieving the loss of someone close.
Remember, any child old enough to love is old enough to mourn... - Dr. Alan Wolfelt
Camp Angel Wings empowers children to adjust to life after the death of a loved one within a supportive community of their peers. Southcoast VNA staff and community volunteers, many who experienced loss as a child, lead a curriculum to help children express feelings and reactions to their loss in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental atmosphere. Camp Angel Wings:
* Provides emotional and physical support
*Helps children explore their many thoughts and feelings about grief
* Gives children the opportunity to remember their loved ones
* Allows children to be themselves and grieve without feeling pressured
The next Camp Angel Wings will take place June 27 and 28, 2020 at Camp Welch in Assonet, MA.
