This year, Camp Loyaltown marks a milestone: half a century of welcoming children and adults with developmental disabilities to our beautiful sleep-away camp. For 50 years, we've provided campers with unforgettable experiences while offering parents and caregivers the peace of mind and respite they need.
This year, our goal is to raise a minimum of $50,000 to support the drilling of a new well, adding an additional water source to Camp Loyaltown. Since 1948, the camp has relied on a single well for its water. To ensure the smooth continuation of camp during the hot summer months, it’s important that we have a reliable and sufficient water supply. This investment is vital for the health and safety of our campers and the longevity of Camp Loyaltown.
For over four decades, the Gamell family has been deeply connected to Camp Loyaltown. Mark's sister Tracy has been attending camp since the 1970s, and each year, over 600 campers experience the beauty of nature while parents enjoy the respite Camp Loyaltown provides.
This labor of love started with Tracy and Mark’s parents, Myra and Gene Gamell, and has been lovingly carried forward by the next generations of the Gamell family. Mark and his wife Doreen, along with their children Ashley and Jenny, have continued the family tradition, as have Mark’s sister Lisa and her husband Rory. To continue providing these invaluable experiences, Mark & Doreen understand the importance of investing in Camp Loyaltown’s ongoing capital needs.
