Goole RSPCA is currently appealing for donations to cover the necessary veterinary treatment and essential care for Buzz, a senior cat requiring thyroid medication, further blood analysis, and a specialised renal diet.

Despite being a remarkable 20 years old, Buzz's past was incredibly challenging. Found at Drax Power Station covered in matted fur and faeces initially mistaken for tumours, this desperately weak cat suffered from very limited hearing and vision, and struggled with mobility and basic bodily functions.

His survival for ten years as a stray is truly astonishing. Registered at a rescue as a young cat in 2005, Buzz's resilience shines through.

Although his recovery hasn't been entirely smooth, Buzz is making wonderful progress. His vision has improved, he's gained significant weight, his strength increases daily, his fur is regrowing, and his wounds are healing beautifully. He's even rediscovering the joy of play.

Buzz's recovery is further complicated by pre-existing heart conditions, including a heart murmur, which demand continuous veterinary management. Additionally, he has recently been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and is now undergoing treatment for that as well.

He also requires a specialised diet tailored to his health needs and will need help grooming.

Any donations will help cover the cost of further blood tests, vet treatment, thyroid and pain medication, arthritis relief and for his nutritious, specialist dietary requirements.

Your contribution will give Buzz a chance to live a comfortable, relatively pain free, happy ninth life, in his golden years.

Ideally Goole RSPCA would like to place him in a permanent foster home for the remainder of his life, where there are no other pets.

We would cover his medical and veterinary expenses, help with his care and work with his carer to give him the best life possible. He deserves it.

Buzz will make a wonderful companion, he is incredibly affectionate and loves humans.
