Story
At Yatton House we help adults with learning and physical disabilities to realise their full potential by providing activities and opportunities which enable our members to lead independent and fulfulling lives. Our outcome focussed programs are tailored to the individual needs of each of our members and aimed at enhancing and developing life skills. We achieve this through a series of centre and community based activities which promote inclusion, support health and wellbeing and build confidence. Each of our members are enrolled into one of 3 Learning Pathways; Health and Wellbeing, Independence or Enterprise with achievable and measurable outcomes tailored to their individual needs.
You can learn more about this on our website.
Over the last 6 years we have been working hard to improve the quality of our facilities at Yatton House, ensuring we can continue to provide and develop this valuable service for many years to come. We are achieving this through a series of phased building refurbishment projects.
Phase 1
In Phase 1 we delivered a new fully accessible entrance and reception area, digital skills suite, changing places facility and improvements to our building and site security.
Phase 2
In Phase 2 we completed the total refurbishment of our Ladies and Gents facilities providing modern units with improved accessibility.
Phase 3
Phase 3 comprised the extension and complete refurbishment of our Independent Living Skills Kitchen providing a modern and fully accessible facility. We also addressed the poor state of repair of the exterior elevation, installing new windows and replacing the external walls with fully insulated rendered panels.
Phase 4
Phase 4 comprised the complete refurbishment of the remaining external elevations of our building to address the poor state of repair and absence of insulation. We installed new double-glazed doors and windows throughout the building and upgraded the exterior with modern fully insulated panels. We also improved accessibility around the building for our wheelchair users by installing a wide paved path all around the building.
Phase 5
At Yatton House we are always looking to the future, to continuously improve our facilities ensuring we can grow and develop as an organisation and meet the needs of existing and new members. Our next focus will be improvements to the internal configuration of the building providing greater operational flexibility and the opportunity to diversify and grow our service offering for the benefit of all our members and our amazing team of support workers. In this project we will create a new multi-functional activity room which will allow us to welcome more members and offer a greater choice of activities. With your support we know we can get there....
