Story
As a school, we feel so incredibly grateful to be part of a community like Budleigh. It is a town full of people with endless generosity both with their time, their energy and their finances and we as parents, carers, volunteers and as teachers feel so fortunate.
We also feel very fortunate to have a head teacher liker Mr Hitchcock who has not only lead a school of over 300 pupils through a pandemic lasting over nine months, navigated delivering free school dinners to children at home, supported teachers who have to provide school teaching and home learning lessons, but has somehow also found the energy and dedication to Budleigh to co-found and Chair the Budleigh Covid Support Group which has to date (Jan 2021) raised and distributed over £30,000 to people in our town.
Despite all of this, as a school we find ourselves in a position where financially we have not been able to hold summer fairs, mothers' and fathers' day fundraisers, movie nights, Christmas fairs and a whole host of other usual events which are a much needed resource to the children.
We are therefore asking you, as part of our community if you will join us in creating and taking part in a Budleigh Community Challenge?
This is a way to invent a challenge of your very own that is motivating and exciting for you and your family. Whether you are 0 or 100 or anything in-between, we would love it if you could set yourself, or each other, a challenge and gain sponsorship or make a small donation to our school campaign.
Any money we receive, and the donation will be hugely appreciated regardless of amount, will go towards the children's education to fill any gaps they have when they return from lockdown to ensure they continue their education as seamlessly as possible
A very heartfelt thank you from all of us involved with St Peter's
