Story

Brain Tumour Awareness Month shines a light upon this neglected condition, we want the world to understand what it really means to have a brain tumour. A brain tumour can affect any of us. There are over 16,000 primary and secondary brain tumours diagnosed in the UK each year. There are over 80,000 people in the UK living with a brain tumour diagnosis and the impact it brings. It is a more common condition than you might think and yet it remains terrifying and mysterious to many.

Brain tumour treatment is complex, nearly always harmful, and diagnosis brings with it enormous impact on well-being and mental health. Fear, isolation, disempowerment and loss of control abound. This is where brainstrust steps in. We are uniquely dedicated to providing the emotional and practical support desperately needed upon hearing the words “you have a brain tumour”.

It is brainstrust’s task to be there for brain tumour sufferers at this terrifying moment.

Join us this March for Brain Tumour Awareness Month! Together, we can ensure more people access vital support. Donate today and help us make an even greater impact for the brain tumour community!

Our Resources

The brain tumour patient guides are written in eight easy to understand sections, to be used individually or as a complete set. It could be particularly useful to patients and carers before they embark on each stage of their journey. £10 could fund the creation and delivery of two complete sets of these guides.

The information is wonderful, I wish I'd had this such a long time ago, we live and learn don't we. - Patient

Our online workshops are delivered by the brainstrust team and expert speakers from across the UK, these tailored workshops are bespoke and cover a wide range of essential topics to help our community thrive. It costs £15 for someone to attend one of these sessions.

It was brilliant to meet you and others at the fatigue workshop. It was the first time both Denise and I felt comfortable talking about the tumour like this with people we knew understood us. - Patient

The brainstrust brain box is tailored to each individual, the brain box makes sure people have the information and tools they need to feel in control and ready to face the road ahead. It costs £40 to send a brain box.

My brain box arrived today. I wish I know about it two years ago. This should be something all brain tumour sufferers and family members should be advised of. - Patient

Coaching conversations help people to focus on the things that matter most to them when life with a brain tumour feels overwhelming, so they can live their best day every day. £100 could fund two hours of coaching with one of our dedicated support specialists.

Your help has been monumental to me in working through my thoughts and understanding of this disease. You have helped me gain perspective and what has happened. Thank you so much for your time and kindness. - Caregiver

Could you make a difference by becoming a regular donor?

Every contribution, big or small, helps ensure that vital resources reach the people who need them most. If you’re unable to fund the full cost of a Brain Box, an online workshop or a complete set of patient guides, you can still make an impact by becoming a regular donor.

Even a small, ongoing donation—just £4 a month—could fund a Brain Box over the course of a year, providing essential support to someone facing a brain tumour diagnosis.
