Story
In the last few months, weve seen an unprecedented demand for food parcels and essential supplies from communities across Birmingham. Coronavirus, and lockdown, has caused significant disruption to an already insecure food system and many people in our city have been left unable to access or afford basic items. The Feeding Communities partnership, part of the #BrumTogether campaign, is made up of over 80 community partners, organisations and volunteers who have been stepping up to help those in need during this challenging time.
Since March we have delivered over 59,000 food parcels, 19,000 hot meals and supplied over12,000 bulk food orders to other organisations delivering food.
We're urging Individuals and businesses to make a donation to help keep the campaign going and feed those most in need (all money received will be spent on food and essential items)
You've helped me out a lot with the calls and the food. Not just because of Coronavirus but because I struggle a lot as a single mum and cant imagine how I could have gone to the shops with a little one and stayed safe.
Food parcels, delivered by the partnership, have been a lifeline for vulnerable people and by working with partners like FareShare and Incredible Surplus/The Real Junk Food Project we have been able to collectively divert over 500 tonnes of good food that would otherwise have gone to waste.
Youve been reliably like clockwork providing me with food parcels for the last 3 months @TAWSociety. This weeks parcel just arrived. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts & keeping me alive. I feel valued by my fellow citizens in Birmingham
Many members of our communities including children and families are deeply concerned about whether they will be able to access food and essential supplies. We're exploring ways we can continue to support our communities, but we urgently need your support to feed local people and provide vital supplies.
If you would like to support this campaign you can:
Make a donation via our Just Giving page (all money received will go directly to the purchase of food and essential items)

Note - we are happy to take any short date goods, as we can turn these items around within 72 hours, thanks to our partners in the food banks having amazing supply chain processes in place to make sure families benefit quickly. We also welcome donations such as tinned vegetables, tuna, pot noodles, soup, cereals, beans, tomatoes, carrier bags and egg boxes.
