Story
At Brookwood, we see every individual as a unique creation of a wise and loving God, deserving not only of our abiding patience and respect, but of boundless awe. We cherish diversity in all forms and eschew narrow-minded notions of normalcy.
The Brookwood Community was founded in 1985 to provide life-long learning and earning opportunities for adults with disabilities. From inception, Brookwood's founders and staff sought to focus on the giftedness in each citizen, use adaptive and individualized education to unlock each citizens potential, and create environments where citizens could employ their God-given gifts to make meaningful contributions to the world. This vision forged the founding of Brookwood and sustains it today.
Our Mission: Through the Grace of God, The Brookwood Community provides an educational environment that creates meaningful work, builds a sense of belonging, and awakens genuine purpose in the lives of adults with disabilities.
Our Vision: To change the way the world thinks about adults with disabilities.
