Story
Together we give hope and support to Bristol's most vulnerable people during the coronavirus crisis
Our city is facing an unprecedented, historic crisis. And on the frontline of our area's fight to defeat the coronavirus is a veritable army of voluntary and charitable organisations and individuals.
Did you know there are over 3,500 charities across Bristol and the West of England? And thousands more community and voluntary groups that support people in need every day. They run our foodbanks and make sure the elderly and the vulnerable are cared for. Much of their work is voluntary and much of it goes unseen.
And many of these groups are struggling to cope financially in the lockdown, so much so that they need our help to keep going.
We're all isolated now but thanks to your donation more people will have support to get them through the crisis.
The coronavirus crisis means that many of them are busier than ever as more people turn to them with money worries, needing food, baby supplies or someone to take away the loneliness of enforced isolation. Our local charitable organisations want to step up and help more people and they need your donations to make this possible.
Some rely on volunteers who now are in lockdown, so these projects have to recruit, vet and train new people to carry on delivering their services. Others support their services through income from community cafes, charity shops and other trading activities which have had to close. And others have been forced to cancel all their fundraising events for the foreseeable future, so they have no source of income for their charitable work.
It's inspiring that so many people care and want to reach out to their neighbours and communities. We're all doing what we can. We care. We help. We give hope to others.
How your donation will help
Your generous donation will go to local charitable causes that are making sure our children have good food to eat and our pensioners are not neglected. You're helping causes like the debt advice charity that needs an extra caseworker to cope with the flood of people seeking support to get through the weeks to come with no income and no idea how to claim Government support.
Our community and events fundraising programme has stopped so your support will be very much appreciated.
Your kind donation will help our local charities today and far into the future. If you can afford it, please donate to help our communities get through this crisis.
Quartet Community Foundation is a registered charity (1080418) with over 30 years' experience in connecting people who care with local causes that matter. It is intended that all donations will be used for coronavirus response and recovery. In the unlikely event that any funding is left this will be used to support local charitable activity. We're registered with the Fundraising Regulator and accredited by UK Community Foundations.
