A Million Steps For Better Mental Health: Join our Step Challenge
Physical exercise is proven to help improve positive mental health. Being active releases a chemical in the brain that boosts emotional wellbeing and lowers rates of mental illness.
Join us in helping everyone in and around Bristol achieve the best mental health possible by donating or taking part in our campaign A Million Steps for Better Mental Health.
How you can join the challenge
We’re looking for individuals, teams, and companies to sign up to our Step Challenge. You can walk, run, jog, skip, or hop your way to your step target, all your steps will go towards our goal of achieving a Million Steps for Better Mental Health.
1. Register

2. Choose your step target
We want to get you motivated to get moving so choose the step challenge you think you can reach in one week:
100,000 Steps (challenging)
A minimum of 14,300 steps a day
70,000 Steps (intermediate)
A minimum of 10,000 steps a day
50,000 Steps (beginner)
A minimum of 7,200 steps a day
3. Set up your fundraising page
Hit the start fundraising button on this page to set up your page, set a target - we recommend £150 - and ask friends, family, and work colleagues to support your step challenge.
4. Track your steps
Now decide how you're going to track your steps. Use a pedometer, smartphone app, or fitness tracker to monitor your daily steps.
If you're taking part as a team, we recommend downloading the app Pacer and creating a challenge where you can all monitor each other’s daily steps and strive towards a goal together!
5. Get walking!
Start moving! And don’t forget to share your journey using the official hashtag #BristolMillionSteps. Tell us how it’s going and tag us in your pictures.
Our hope is by taking on the challenge you’ll feel the benefits of being physically active and its has a positive impact on your mental health and wellbeing.
