The 2020 BRISMES annual conference has attracted hundreds of submissions, including many coming from the Middle East and even more from scholars without institutional funding or support.

Their contributions are vital to broaden the horizons within our field. We are dedicated, as a Society, to promote and support the best Scholarship on the Middle East through engaging with as broad a community of researchers as possible.

For the first time in its recent history, BRISMES will be funding conference bursaries to help with the costs of attending the conference for those who are based in the Global South, including the MENA region, and those without access to institutional funds for conference travel.

Our sponsorship package will cover fee wavers and accommodation (£250/participant) with a goal of reaching as many colleagues as possible.

We are seeking sponsors from among our members, members of the Middle East Studies community more widely and other contributors to ensure this support is available.

£250 covers fees and 3 nights accommodation for a delegate who otherwise would not have access to funds to support conference attendance.
