Story
Our funding is in a critical position so we are undertaking a fundraising event on Saturday 5 June 2021 when Linda & Jeanette will climb Brimmond Hill from dawn till dusk. The days are stretching and by the 5th of June sunrise is at 04.17 and the sun will set at 21.56 - so a total of 17 hours, 38 minutes and 46 seconds of daylight. We didn't think that was realistic for us to achieve so have settled for 12 hours, 7 am to 7 pm. It is a small hill but, as we were reminded recently, we are both over 60! We are so very grateful to also be supported by a group of Occupational Therapists from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Those on the frontline of the NHS have indeed been our heroes during the pandemic and we are so appreciative of their offer of life support to our small, local charity.
We are so appreciative of any donation you feel able to make to enable the work of The Living Well Project to continue to support those vulnerable people in our local communities.
We would be delighted if you can come along and cheer us on as we trek up and down Brimmond, we are happy to be sidetracked and have a blether! Bring a flask and have a fly cup with us or, if you are able, climb part of the way up, there is a bench looking towards the hills and beyond - the views are quite something.
Recent testimonials:
Have I told you recently what an amazing job you two are STILL doing? You really are something else and put other bigger organisations to shame. It's lovely to have your daily diaries keeping us informed.
If the cafés close I don't know what we would do. There is nothing else like it. They make such a massive difference to people's lives.
Pre-COVID testimonials:
My mother has Alzheimers and also is quite anxious and nervous. When we go to the Living Well Cafés she interacts with other people. She loves singing and dancing and it's lovely to see her enjoying herself.
Mum comes alive at the cafés. Because she feels comfortable and secure, she joins in with everything.
