Story
The "Brighten Up Brighton" gardening for wellbeing project is led by people experiencing homelessness and aims to brighten up unloved areas of Brighton & Hove while changing perceptions of homelessness.
So far, the group has transformed 2 neglected planting spaces in Brighton & Hove (Queens Square and the Clock Tower). Both areas were strewn with litter and dead foliage, but are now tidy and full of bulbs that will flower this summer!
It's been incredible seeing this transformation taking place and the impact on the clients leading the project. Each site has 90 other bulbs that will be blooming over the summer and for years to come. Your donations would help us extend Brighten Up Brighton project so that more people can benefit, and we can continue to green up Brighton & Hove!
- £5 would buy a packet of bulbs to plant in a site
- £15 would buy enough peat free compost to cover one small site
- £25 would buy an easy-grip, long-reach gardening tool for wheelchair users
- £100 would provide a gardening coach to lead a workshop
