Support Bridgnorth CFRs

Our CFR scheme is self funding charity, meaning it relies on our own fundraising, and the generosity of local businesses, individuals, & organisations for support, to ensure we can provide this essential, life-saving service to the Bridgnorth area.

We are volunteers who respond to 999 calls alongside the ambulance service. We are based in our local community, we can deliver lifesaving care prior to the arrival of a frontline ambulance We receive no government funding for what we do, every part of our operation is only possible from donations

Story

Bridgnorth Community First Responder Scheme was established in 2000, when volunteer schemes to support the ambulance service were first developed in Shropshire.

All of our CFR's are volunteers who have been trained in advanced first aid by West Midlands Ambulance Service, and make themselves available to ambulance control to attend 999 emergencies in the local community, providing care and treatment until the arrival of a full time ambulance resource.

Since then, our members have been active in the local community and surrounding areas.

We currently have ten members to our team, all devoting their free time to the community of Bridgnorth.

Our members can be called out from home, work, or even during a shopping trip!

In addition to giving up their free time to attend emergency calls, our volunteers also commit many hours to training, scheme meetings, fundraising, and public relations events.

Our Community First Responder scheme is self funding, meaning it relies on our own fundraising, and the generosity of local businesses, individuals, and organisations for support, to ensure we can provide this essential , life-saving service to the local community.
