We know that going to work is so much more than a paycheque, its part of your identity, ambition, and independence. Work means a healthy routine and purpose to your day, and it also means colleagues, friends and a support network. Which is why its important to raise awareness that only 5.1% of known people with a learning disability are in paid employment.
Unity Works strives to bridge this gap in the employment market. Approaching the issue from both sides, we provide support for people with a learning disability to help them achieve their career goals. We also work with companies across England to support them in disability awareness training, and making their place of work more accessible for people with a learning disability.
Your donations enable us to continue the work we do, improve the support we currently provide, and build new types and methods of support so we can keep approaching this employment gap with new solutions.
