Story

BORN SURVIVOR 2023 - RIBBLE VALLEY LANCASHIRE

The bravest of Team Brick are taking on The Ultimate Military Obstacle Course located in Lancashire's breathtaking Ribble Valley, to raise critical funds to help keep our services running.

This Born Survivor Course is unquestionably the hardest and roughest of them all, and it is well deserving of the magnificent medal that will be affixed to your chest once you have successfully completed this amazing task! Test your physical and mental fortitude while creating a team bond that can only be achieved in a setting with military inspiration.

ABOUT THE BRICK

The Brick delivers effective solutions to address poverty and homelessness across the Wigan and Leigh Borough, providing supported and emergency accommodation services, street outreach services, wrap around person-led support, a food community and affordable furniture and essential household items to make a house a home.

> Did you know that 28.3% of households in Wigan and Leigh are living in fuel poverty, which is 6% higher than the national average? This alarming statistic highlights the urgent need for action to alleviate the suffering caused by energy-related hardship.

> 31.1% of children in Wigan were living in poverty in 2021/22, equivalent to a staggering 21,703 children. These young lives should be filled with joy and opportunity, not weighed down by the burdens of poverty.

> The number of homelessness applications submitted to Wigan Council has seen a significant increase. In recent months, 1,091 applications were made, marking a rise of 339 compared to the same period last year. This rise is deeply concerning and requires our immediate attention and support.

Can you help us raise critical funds and help vulnerable people and families in Wigan & Leigh who are experiencing homelessness and poverty?
