Help support the Rovers to support families in need, to receive food vouchers over the festive period.
Due to ongoing concerns regarding the spread of the new Covid-19 variant, Blackburn Rovers has taken the decision to make changes to its festive food box initiative, however the clubs commitment to supporting local families this Christmas remains unaffected.
Rovers, in partnership with Sodexo, Blackburn Rovers Community Trust and Blackburn with Darwen Council, had hoped to deliver around 600 hampers into the local community to ensure that no family or child would go without food on their table this Christmas Day.
However, as Covid cases surge across the region at an alarming rate, in order to protect the health and safety of all staff and volunteers, as well as those receiving the food parcels, the club has been forced to amend its offering, in order to mitigate the risk posed by packaging and delivering the hampers.
As a result, Rovers will now work with its partners, donors and supporters to ensure that households most in need each receive a £20 food voucher, which will cover the cost of a traditional two-course Christmas meal.
Your donation, no matter the amount, will go a long way in tackling food poverty in Blackburn with Darwen. Please join us in helping to bring joy to underprivileged families in Blackburn with Darwen, who find traditional holidays difficult to navigate.
Rovers would like to thank all staff, supporters and members of the general public who have already donated to our festive fundraising which remains active, as the club rolls out the Christmas voucher scheme and looks to support other important initiatives in the local community over the coming weeks and months.
