Our daughter Annabell is just 14 years old, and right now she is facing a battle that no child should ever have to face.

Annabell has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumour called Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG), H3K27-altered.

For those who know Annabell, you will know what a truly special girl she is. She is one of the kindest, sweetest and most selfless people you could ever meet. She has always been the girl who puts everyone else before herself. She worries about other people, cares deeply about those around her and would give anything to make someone else smile.

But now, Annabell needs to be put first.

Since her diagnosis, she has already been through more than any 14-year-old should have to endure. She underwent surgery to have a shunt fitted to help remove the fluid caused by the tumour, and she has recently completed six weeks of palliative radiotherapy.

We are now facing a very uncertain future. We have an MRI planned in around six weeks, and until we know what that shows, we don't know exactly what the next steps will be.

We are determined to explore every possible option for Annabell, and this may mean looking at treatment opportunities overseas that could give us another avenue to explore.

We have set up this Tree of Hope fundraiser to help give us the opportunity to access the support, treatment and resources Annabell may need as we continue this fight. We don't know what the future holds, but we do know that we will never stop fighting for our girl.

If we raise insufficient funds, or surplus funds, then the funds will be used, if appropriate, to fund support for our child’s needs in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objects.
