Story
The #Brake5 Challenge for Road Safety Week
Road crashes are devastating events for everyone involved. When the worst happens, Brake’s National Road Victim Service is there to help. We support hundreds of families affected by road crashes each month. All funds raised through the #Brake5 Challenge will help us provide more care for road victims and campaign for safe roads for everyone.
Road Safety Week is our biggest annual campaign and takes place from 19-25 November 2023. This year we’re talking about speed, one of the biggest causes of road death and injury. With five people dying on UK roads every day, we want to start a national conversation about why people still think it’s ok to speed.
The #Brake5 Challenge is a fantastic way to take part in Road Safety Week and get people talking. Run, walk, cycle, swim... the choice is yours! Take on a challenge around the number 5 and make some noise to remember road victims and raise awareness of the fact that five people die on UK roads every day.
What your fundraising can achieve
- £55 could help five children bereaved by a road crash by providing their parents or carers with a children’s picture book and guidance on helping children.
- £555 could help 50 families bereaved by road crashes to receive a Brake support pack, helping them cope with their feelings and understand procedures such as the police investigation and court cases.
- £5,555 could help four road victim families to receive support for a year from Brake’s National Road Victim Service.
Thank you so much for your support!
