Story

The Bra-ha-ha is a one-of-a-kind fundraising experience that celebrates survivorship and artistry. With a 38-C bra as their canvas, interested community members are challenged to construct unique and uplifting art using breast cancer prevention as inspiration. These heartwarming masterpieces are unveiled at our annual Bra-ha-ha Awards Show & Auction, which serves as our tribute to those affected by breast cancer. The Bra-ha-ha encompasses a series of inspiring events including the Bra-ha-ha 5K, the Awards Show & Auction, a week-long bra art exhibit, and third party philanthropy events. All Bra-ha-ha seriously uplifting events raise funds to provide FREE mammograms and related breast health services to uninsured and underinsured in the community.

Bambi's Story

Bambi Rivera and her family share her story of courage and love in the face of Bambi's cancer diagnosis. She was treated at the Sidney M. Oman Cancer Treatment Center which is part of Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Bambi is a cancer survivor, active Bra-ha-ha committee member, advocate and inspirational member of our community.

The Bra-ha-ha Awards Show & Auction 2021

Chesapeake Television attended the 2021 Awards Show & Auction capturing the inspiring stories of survival and the incredible creativity of bra designers.

Bra-ha-ha Patient Spotlight: Sherry Carmichael

Sherry Carmichael knew the importance of getting her yearly mammogram, but when she lost her job and health insurance, she didn't know how she would afford her breast health care. Thanks to money raised through Bra-ha-ha, Sherry was able to receive not only a free mammogram, but a breast biopsy too.
