Story
Marissa is a Staff Nurse from the Therapeutic Support Services at Bryn y Neuadd Hospital in Llanfairfechan. This summer, Marissa will be swimming the length of Llyn Padarn in Llanberis to raise money for patients at the hospital.
In total, Marissa will be swimming just over 3.2km with the aim of raising £4,000!
All money raised will go towards purchasing an outdoor trampoline for the patients at Bryn y Neuadd Hospital. Trampolines are great fun for the patients already, but this special outdoor one will enable patients who find it difficult to enjoy physical activities indoors, to enjoy bouncing away on the outdoor one in a safe and fun manner.
It is known that trampolines can be very beneficial to people with mental health issues and learning disabilities. Jumping on a trampoline can release endorphins, serotonin, dopamine and adrenaline, all of which is good for mental wellness in children and adults. Patients at Bryn y Neuadd would benefit greatly from having this piece of equipment on-site and would love your support to help get it to them!
The trampoline and the necessary equipment to go with it will cost around £4,000, which Marissa is hoping to raise with her swim.
Marissa and the team are so excited for this challenge and would love to see your support in raising money for the new trampoline!
