Story
The Sussex Beacon is open 24 hours a day in response to the COVID-19 crisis providing vital care and bed space for vulnerable patients in and around Brighton. We have increased the capacity of our beds to allow for us to assist the NHS in taking more patients on in this difficult time.
Our nursing team at the Beacon are special. They work extremely hard and always bring joy and fun to whatever they do. Even in what is an extremely difficult and trying time for them they are facing adversity with a smile.
Bop For The Beacon
Bop For The Beacon is an opportunity for you to support our nursing team and have a fun dance at the same time. The nursing team are watching each video to lift them in this difficult time
We know this is a really difficult time for people but if you are able to support our nursing team via donating to our appeal it would make an enormous difference to us
61% of our funds come from donations and we need our communities generosity now more than ever.
Our Fundraising Manager Mark said
" Having first hand experience of Covid 19 symptoms in the last week with the possibility at one stage of being admitted I know first hand how scary this virus can be - and mine was relatively mild!- all the staff working 24 hours a day within the Beacon supporting our vulnerable patients have been amazing and worked together as a team. Our Housekeeping team are working tirelessly, our patient kitchens are still open and the clinical team is keeping people safe with high end care. I could not be prouder of them all. I know how hard it is for people in the current environment but a donation of £20 could support a nurse for an hour which will make an enormous difference to the Beacon and the care we provide which is rated as Outstanding by the CQC"
