Story
Bolton Sea Cadets gives young people aged between 10 and 18, of any background or ability, the chance to become part of a uniformed organisation that can teach them skills and give them the confidence they need to become well rounded young adults. Cadets receive training from volunteer instructors in various Naval related subjects both on and off the water. They develop teamwork, communication and life skills that will help them in numerous and valuable ways throughout their lives.
Sea Cadets receive no direct funding unlike other armed service cadet units. Each unit is a charity in its own right and needs to raise funds to make sure we can offer our cadets the best experience possible. By raising money we can improve our boating equipment, ensure our unit building can provide the best learning environment for the cadets, purchase new engineering equipment to improve our hands on engineering opportunities and treat our hard working cadets to trips.
Our cadets will be taking part in a sponsored row to raise vital funds to help improve our unit. Our unit building is very old and requires some TLC over the next few years to allow us to continue to open our doors for years to come. This is no small task with the building needing new boilers, electrics, windows, gutters and much more while also being Grade II listed. Every donation will help us to complete the work needed.
