Story

The Bog Run is back, and it's going to be bigger and boggier than ever!

On Sunday 15th October 2023, we will welcome up to 800 amazing participants to tackle the muddiest 5k around at Castlewellan Forest Park in support of children and young people impacted by cancer.

With the exciting edition of a brand new Junior Bog Run course, we know it is going to be an event to remember. So whether you take on the adult course with family and friends, or get the kids involved to challenge themselves against nature, we guarantee an absolutely bog-tastic experience.

The Bog Run is not a race, but more an opportunity to challenge yourself against nature. It is a 5k route through thick forest, delightful swampy bog and, maybe, there just might be a lake involved somewhere (the lake is part of the adult event only). You will climb over fallen trees, crawl through bushes and, while it is challenging and you will definitely get muddy, you will also have amazing craic so get your friends involved and have a bit of fun for a good cause!

Let's Get Boggin!

The Bog Run is a lot of fun but it’s also a chance to raise vital funds and help ensure no child has to face cancer alone. With you by our side, we can make an incredible difference for children and their families impacted by cancer and ensure they receive the right support at the right time.

Cancer came like a thief in the night. At times it can feel like there is no escape from cancer. Everyone in the family is worried constantly, so to have a space like Daisy Lodge where you only have to worry about relaxing, having fun together and making memories is so important. It gives families like ours a chance to reconnect in a positive way and for siblings of children with cancer, it’s important that they see Mam and Dad relax. (Mum of a child diagnosed with cancer).
