Covid19 is one of the hardest challenges we are facing at the moment. Isolation, depression and loneliness are some of the effects from this pandemic. So here at Blue Magpie we decided to try to fight this together. We want you to join us in our 100 day challenge. Let's do 10,000 steps a day for 100 days. That's ONE million steps. Become a steps millionaire this year. Your body and mind will thank you and maybe your doctor too!
As you're doing this, you will not only be helping your own physical and mental state but you will be helping others in need too. People from all over the world. That's what BMF stands for. We want to help people in need everywhere regardless of their background, religion, colour or race. We are all one.
In terms of the actual challenge, we would like you to be fit every day, but please do it within your own country's current guidelines. In the UK at the moment, you are allowed and encouraged to exercise everyday but within your local area. Exercise is important, not only for your physical but mental health too. It is even more necessary during lockdown when you can't meet your friends, family or anyone else for leisure.
Questions:
1) 10,000 steps? What does that mean? How do I track it?
Most smartphones/smartwatch can track it, if you do not have one you can use this as a benchmark:
1 hour of walking everyday is about 7000 steps.
Any exercise that burn 450 calories = 10,000 steps
2) Is this only for walking?
No, any exercise will do. The key here is to be fit and active for 100 days. Running, jogging, cycling, rope skipping and dancing all count. Just find a way to be active for 100 days. Let's stay healthy together and help others during this pandemic.
