The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileThe Blue Water Folk Society (BWFS), an ALL volunteer, 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in 2001, is dedicated to promoting traditional and acoustic music in the Thumb area of Michigan through free concerts, coffeehouses, and educational programs such as Guitar for Kids. Thumbfest, the BWFSs biggest event, is a free, all-day traditional and acoustic music festival held every year on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend with stages throughout the downtown area of Lexington. BWFS spends the year fundraising for the $20-$25,000 Thumbfest budget through benefit concerts, raffles, donations, and sponsorships from Lexington businesses and organizations. Unfortunately, since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic BWFS has been unable to host any fundraising events and many local businesses saw their revenues also fall. We are asking for your support to help us to once again offer a day of music in the Thumb of Michigan completely free.
